Ariel Harlap's profile

Transformation Zone

Transformation Zone is a one-day collaborative game of (inter)action, experimentation and urban transformation. It was inspired by the desire of the 100en1jour Montreal community to evolve citizen engagement into a regular practice.

Project ideation, execution and enjoyment all resulting from a collaboration with other active citizens.

2. Paint noses of concrete sentinels yellow.
Filling potholes:
1. Get buckets and bags of concrete (optionally carried in a wheelbarrow).
2. Fill a bucket with water and bring it on site.
3. Add concrete to an empty bucket, then add water and mix a lot to a thick pancake-like consistency.
4. Fill in potholes with concrete.
5. Add finishing touches like flower and tile impresses, to make them look like animals (c.f., whale below)
6. Cover with plastic and tape down edges so that concrete won't crack while it dries.
7. Wait one or two days, then remove plastic.
